Description

2-channel HD real-time recorder and streamer / HDMI & SDI

The Monarch LCS is such a reliable, stand-alone, network-capable device that IT administrators will have no trouble configuring and integrating with video management systems (VMS) or learning management systems (LMS). This device allows you to easily define different profiles for live and recorded lessons, using both the signal from a camera and / or presentation material (SDI or HDMI sources). Once set up, just press a single button to use this versatile H.264 encoder, and all this at a very economical price.

Multiple operating modes
No more complex equipment is required to efficiently record presentations in conference rooms. For example, a typical installation allows you to mix the audio and video of the presenter with computer-aided presentation material to create a program for webcasting. The user can select from several modes (picture in picture or side by side for example). And if the user wants to dynamically change the entries during the lecture, he can use the selection mode offered by the Monarch LCS. The Monarch LCS can be quickly configured to record and deliver content such as presentations or seminars in attractive formats.

Viewer Defined Layouts
Capture your audience’s attention by giving them control. In "isolation" mode, the device provides two independent video streams or files. This feature, when used with a compatible third-party player, allows viewers to select their preferred format. When this type of player is used, the synchronization of the Monarch LCS 'dual inputs when recording or streaming is invaluable. Viewers can seamlessly switch to their preferred playback format while keeping audio and video perfectly synchronized

Easy to use
The Matrox Monarch LCS can be controlled and configured from any device with a web browser, such as a tablet, using the Monarch LCS Command Center. Its very intuitive Web interface allows you to start encoding very simply. The Monarch LCS comes with a number of broadcast and recording presets that define encoding parameters, such as resolution or bit rate. The encoding settings can be customized and combined with operating mode and destination settings, and saved as a single profile. If the device is used by more than one person, it is possible to switch from one user profile to another without having to re-enter the data.

Easy integration
The Monarch LCS is a network-usable device that integrates very easily with existing infrastructures, managed by resource management solutions such as VMS OpenCast or LMS Moodle software. In addition, the scheduler function * supports iCal Open Source software (such as Google Calendar), which allows you to create a schedule, export it in .ics file format and import it easily and to any moment in the device. In addition, the Monarch LCS can be configured to periodically retrieve schedules from the network.

Exceptional quality
The Monarch LCS, which offers images of unrivaled quality, can share encoding capacities of up to 20 Mb / s thanks to its two H.264 encoding channels. Each channel has its own bitrate / quality parameters, and thanks to scaling functions and deinterlacing and noise reduction engines, only flawless quality images are transmitted to encoders. And for an optimal level of quality, each encoder can be set to a resolution of up to 1080p30.

Destination settings
When streaming or recording, this dual channel encoder offers several destination options. When recording, an encoding channel records the content in MOV or MP4 files, playable by virtually any player. These files are created and saved on local USB drives, SD cards or networked drives and are immediately accessible by an LMS or VMS system for remote course monitoring. And during a streaming, encoders use RTMP or RTSP protocols to transmit live streams to local media servers or content delivery networks (CDN).

Flexible entries
The Monarch LCS can support productions with two HDMI video sources or with one HDMI video source and another SDI. Built-in audio or analog audio can be selected as the audio source. With support for SDI or HDMI video signals, the user can choose what is best for a given installation (for example, recording a lecture). SDI signals can be transmitted up to 100 meters through a coaxial cable, which is ideal for situations where the camera is far from the encoder. When cable length is not an issue, HDMI cameras are the cheapest solution, especially in large installations.

Synchronization of the sources of the different inputs
The visualization of a lecture is optimal when the audio, video and computer signals are synchronized before encoding. Video and computer signals rarely share the same resolutions and frame rates. The Monarch LCS accepts these different streams and synchronizes them before encoding, which allows video and audio to be perfectly synchronized, regardless of the operating mode. Built-in synchronization also compensates for any interruption in the input signal, ensuring continuous streaming and uninterrupted recording.

Live preview output
The SDI and HDMI outputs are active and can be mapped to the inputs, which is useful for internal projections. The HDMI output also allows the user to preview the content that will be sent to the remote viewer, using the same parameters as the encoding.

Remote device management
The Matrox utility software allows the user to search and find all Monarch LCS installed on their network. It also makes it possible to determine whether the firmware version installed in the various Monarch LCS is the latest. It automatically updates devices so that the most recent version is installed. The Matrox utility can also be used to start Monarch LCS devices accessible from the network.

A versatile programming interface (API)
You can take advantage of the Monarch LCS development tools, including automatic configuration tools and the Monarch LCS command API, to standardize procedures. Individual users do not need to configure the web interface for the Monarch LCS Command Center, which simplifies deployments in the enterprise or centrally managed.

Control using Crestron
The Monarch LCS control programming interface (API) is an ideal way to integrate the Monarch LCS into a classroom, meeting room or any other room equipped with a Crestron control system. Monarch LCS registered users can download a sample SIMPL module designed for Crestron type 2-Series® and 3-Series® devices.

Robust and practical design
Powerful and robust, the Monarch LCS has several front ports (USB or SD card) and three easy-to-use pushbuttons that offer the user an alternative to controlling the Web interface. All of the connectors are located on the back, including the locking power connector, making the Monarch LCS as easy to install on a workstation as it is on a frame. It is possible to mount up to two devices on a single tray.
