The large, ultra-sensitive CMOS sensor is capable of producing progressive 1920 x 1080 images with a shallow depth of field similar to that of a film camera.
For even more versatility, the NEX-FS100 also allows long continuous recording and simultaneous recording of HD video for instant backup thanks to a HXR-FMU128 Flash memory unit. Capable of shooting videos in 1080p in a range of frame rates up to 60p, the FS100 offers the possibility of recording AVCHD sequences at 28 Mbps on SD or Memory Stick media, or it can produce a 4 video: 2: 2 uncompressed (with integrated timecode) and RGB via HDMI 1.4 to an external recording unit. Simultaneous recording on both is also possible when an instant backup is required.
